Project 3 Examples & Progess Work

Here is the sequential storyboard of my anti-bullying PSA created using Premiere.

Here are some examples of images that I'm planning to use for my PSA. Over fall break, I'm planning to take some photos of my little cousin holding a stop sign in different scenes, such as in the school hallway and at the park. I'll cut out him out of a photo using photoshop and place him in the last scene where he stands at the edge of a skyscraper.

Here is a tutorial that I did where I used still images and make them relevant to 3D space. It's a really rough example of how I'm going to use the photographs I'm taking to captivate my anti-bullying PSA.

This a really rough example of how the ending of my PSA is going to be like. From beginning to end, there will be certainly a song/music playing in the background to add intensity to the PSA.

  2. Cua,
Beautiful work as usual, there is something very captivating about your stoary board sketches. the lines really emulate the mood you are going for each thumbnail looks like a dark world I would not want to enter. I hope you bring this style into your actual PSA if you are doing animation. I think you might want to consider just some footage of the boy walking with the stop sign down the sidewalk or road or bridge or just outside, and link that in between his visit to the school, park and mall, I think this would help with the flow of your PSA and the extra footage of the boy outside and alone will metaphorically show he has no one that can help him outside of his world that is school, park and mall. I hope this makes sense and is helpful!

  3. I can definitely see your tutorial being applied to this PSA concept to create a lot of depth and interesting perspectives. Just make sure you continue to use high-res, crisp images for the final project. Great start!

  4. I like the idea of using the single boy and the stop sign throughout the entire video I think it is a great way to approach the subject matter and I think it will really get the point across.

  6. The stop sign is a very powerful tool for your PSA, and I'm glad you're using it to your advantage. Your ending is working well too.

  7. I like where you are heading for in your PSA I guess I am still just a little confused on the aesthetic of the video. You will be finding images online to use and putting in your little cousin? Maybe it would be better to take your story and make it fit what ever environment you can shoot at.

  8. This seems like it'll be a powerful video. I do wish you were using video of your cousin instead of still images, because I'm worried it might look a bit like a slideshow, but that's really the only critique I can come up with.

  9. Hi Cua

Great process, nice idea. Not sure about the "bullying" written on the stop sign. Maybe you don't need that, it can just stay stop and then the logo/message tells us what to stop...I like the idea of making 2-D layers 3d and playing with the dynamics of the camera. If you did shoot video, it doesn't have to be 30 frames per second...sometimes you can cheat cell animation by lowering the frame rate to 2 - 3 frames a second (under Composition/Settings. Nice start.
